We went Mavis Tires & Brakes in Fitzgerald to get a tire patched. At first they said they couldn’t just patch it, that we needed a new tire. While the tire was being replaced, the worker decided to search the glove compartment without our permission, claiming he needed a tool to change the tire. Aren’t they supposed to have all the necessary tools in a tire shop? When my husband went out to see why he was digging through our vehicle, he quickly got out of the truck and put it back up to continue changing the tire. We had cash in the glove compartment from which he decided to steal $500. As soon as we realized there was money missing, my husband went to tell the woman in charge to check the security cameras. The worker then rushed off to his lunch break not even letting anybody in the shop know. The woman in charge then proceeded to tell us there were no cameras in the shop. After insisting and calling to police, they finally showed us the video. Unfortunately, the camera quality is very poor but you can see the worker going up and searching where he shouldn’t have been especially without our permission! They called him and told him to come back to the shop immediately. As soon as the police arrived, they searched him but of course he had nothing in him anymore. He was gone for more than 15 minutes. Later we heard another employee talking about how they didn’t even need the tool the thief claimed he had been looking for. I absolutely do not recommend this place!

We recommended this place to some friends that were visiting us from out of town and had a flat on there 2025 Yukon. That was the biggest mistake we could have made! First of all, they wouldn’t patch up their tire that had a nail stuck in it. They made them buy a whole new tire over a dang nail. Secondly, and worst of all, one of their employees stole money out of their vehicle! Not $1, not $5, not even $20. He stole $500 and then proceeded to leave for his lunch break in a hurry!! My friends asked for camera footage and was first told by a lady that they didn’t have cámaras, lies! When pressed on getting camera footage they finally got it but the footage was dark and grainy and the angle didn’t allow for a good view of the man digging through their glove compartment. He never even asked for permission to dig through their things. On the footage you can only see him bending over the glove compartment for what seems like a very long time for supposedly looking for their lug nut key. I mean isn’t a tire place supposed to have all of those already!? If not, why not ask the vehicle owner for it instead of digging through their things! When my friend saw the man digging through their vehicle he went to the back to see what was going on but when the employee saw him walking towards him, he quickly got out and lifted their truck for the tire change. That is why he didn’t notice the money was gone until after his keys were returned to him and he checked his glove compartment: So finally my friends had to call the police and wait for the employee to return from his lunch break. When he retuned, the police searched him but of course he didn’t have the money on him anymore. He had plenty of time to go home and hide it. Needless to say, don’t go to their business if you have things of value in your vehicles. If you absolutely have to go, make sure to take everything of value out of there if you don’t want them to be stolen!
