I called in to have a device installed and explained not only the state I was in but the city and county it occurred in. The representative put the wrong state, a state I’ve never been to and we had no conversation about whatsoever, and completely screwed up everything for me. I went to the installation facility and had the device installed and they’re the ones who informed me the order was incorrect but the equipment was correct. The next day I spent over two hours on the phone, mostly on hold, was passed around and hung up on until I finally got a supervisor assistant or whatever her position is. I actually was calling in and on hold on multiple phones to try to get someone to help me. I spent my entire morning working on this so I could obtain the correct paperwork. I have to go back to the installation facility to have the equipment recalibrated, this is after I was told it would need to be removed and new equipment installed, and get the correct paperwork. In order to get my permit I have to return to the same area, which is 40 minutes from where is live, the next day because the department of driver services is closed on Mondays. This has resulted in 3 trips for me to get a device installed and get my permit and again these trips are 40 minutes 1 way. This should have been accomplished in 1 trip. The installation facility and driver services are 10 minutes apart. Intoxalock owes me retribution for wasting 3 days of my time and the cost of fuel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance.
