- JRJason RoseFeb 7, 20261.0This is the second time I have gone to this Advance Auto to warranty an item. Both times I was turned away saying go back to the store where you originally purchased. This time I tried to swap a battery that I just purchased 5 days ago. I asked her to test the battery under a load. She did and it showed replace battery. This should have been a simple in and out. I showed her my online receipt and she said she couldn't find the order... it can only be done at the orgin store. I left the store and went back to the Union City store. They seen the battery was new, didn't ask for a receipt and swap the battery out. Awesome customer service and business acumen at Union City Advance Auto. All they have to do is place a defective tag on the battery and the supplier will replace that battery under warranty for the store. No profit loss. Senior management need to train the employees at Fairburn Advance Auto on customer service. By the way, she called the manager and he is the one that told her to tell me to go back to the original store. Unreal!!!!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
