I was traveling home from Savannah to Atlanta when my car started displaying all types of warning lights. Thankfully I was near Dublin GA and my husband found Mavis Tire & Brakes for me get some help. I arrived just as they were about to close. Crystal was so wonderful in calming my nerves and setting up a plan for me to get the problem diagnosed and repaired. I am so thankful my problem occurred in Dublin! Thanks Crystal and the Mavis Team!

Unexpectedly, I ran over a key which completely deflated my tire on my car. My husband put the spare on and we located the nearest tire place, which was Mavis. They took the time to see if it could be plugged or if I needed a new one. Once determined, it could be plugged, the service was done in 30 minutes. The customer service experience was fabulous from beginning to end.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Mavis near my house. My brakes were a bit soft, and I saw Mavis had a free brake check and diagnosis, so I decided to get them checked out to try to figure out what was going on with them. I took them in, they initially said it was air in the system and they needed to be bled, but after inspecting closer, they determined that one of the wheel cylinders was an issue as well. They showed me the boot had deteriorated and it would need to be replaced soon. Luckily they said that while it was important to get it done soon, I could still drive it until I could save up the money to get it fixed, and it wasn't a true emergency. I thanked them for letting me know what was going on, and they said they would put the car back together and then I could head out. While I waited, they asked if I could leave a review, which I did, 5 stars, as I was happy with the quick diagnosis and quote. That's where the good stuff ended unfortunately. After about 30 minutes, I asked if it would be much longer. They said they were still putting the brakes back together and it wouldn't be much longer. About 15 minutes later, the workers started to close the store and I realized something was wrong. This time, they told me there was a "slight issue" and they were working on it. It turns out that they were unable to get the wheel spinning again after putting the brake back on. They told me the wheel seized, and they couldn't move the car. They could fix it, but didn't have the parts on hand, so it would have to wait until the next day. I was a upset but didn't really have any options. They told me they couldn't even roll it into the parking lot so I could get it towed somewhere else. It was stuck in their garage so they would have to be the ones to fix it. All told, it would be nearly $400 to get the car running again, and I'd be without a car for a day. At that point, they told me the store was closing and I'd need to leave. It was raining and I had to go outside into the rain until my wife showed up to pick me up. Just before my wife showed up, one of the workers who had been inside was driving away and saw me, and I think took pity on me, because she offered to let me sit in her car out of the rain until I had a ride home. This was sadly the highlight of my entire experience because at least there was some empathy and kindness in the individuals themselves. My wife showed up before I got in, but it was a nice offer at least as it was freezing and wet. I got a call the next afternoon telling me that they car was ready. I went in, fully expecting to be told they were sorry and possibly even give me a discount on the work, but in fact they actually increased the price from the original quote by about 15 dollars. I complained and was told it was for materials they added that they didn't know would be needed, and they couldn't remove them. I was upset, but at that point, just wanted to get out of there and chalk it all up as a very expensive lesson. I went out to my car, and drove away, my brakes still soft, wasting 400 dollars and a day of my car for absolutely nothing. I deleted my initial positive review, and was thinking about leaving a detailed negative review in it's place, but decided to just move on and forget about it, just letting my friends know to avoid the shop. Then, this last weekend, I needed to check something on my car, and needed to use the parking brake. When I pulled the lever, it felt a bit easy compared to how it normally feels to pull it up. Suspicious, I slowly let my foot off the normal brakes, and the car started to roll forward. The parking brake was no longer working. I did a quick search to see if there were common causes for that, and found out that the parking brake is connected via a spring in the same rear driver's side drum brake they had been working on. So it turns out that not only did I pay $400 to fix an issue they created, and my car did not get repaired for the issue I originally went in for, they actually caused another issue.

I ran into some issues halfway through a 4 hr drive and pulled in expecting the worse. They were able to diagnose the problem, give me advice, and fix the issue so that it was safe to drive the rest of my trip home. The team was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. I wish I lived closer to Dublin so I could make them my regular shop. Incredibly grateful for their help!

I just wanted to take a minute to give a big shoutout to the team at Mavis Tire, especially Ashley. In a world where good customer service can be hard to come by, Ashley truly stands out. He’s currently the only mechanic there, and you’d never know it by the way he keeps things moving while still taking the time to treat every customer with patience and respect. Ashley goes above and beyond, not just for the customers but for his coworkers too. You can tell he cares about doing things the right way, stepping in wherever he’s needed and helping the whole team succeed, even when it means going well beyond what’s expected of him. That kind of work ethic and heart is rare these days. It’s the kind of place that still feels small-town and honest, where people take pride in their work and treat you like family instead of just another number. If you’re looking for folks you can trust with your vehicle, this is the place to go. Mavis Tire is lucky to have Ashley, and customers like me sure are too.
