I made it clear that I wasn’t asking him to search the system—just to physically help me look. Unfortunately, he stood there silently and made no effort to assist. When I voiced my frustration, Devonte stepped in and immediately said, “We’re not mechanics.” I wasn’t asking for mechanical help—I was asking for basic customer service. Instead of de-escalating the situation, Devonte defended the employee by saying, “He’s only 17,” and implied I was speaking to him inappropriately. I want to be clear: I was not rude or aggressive. I was frustrated because I wasn’t being helped, and I expected a level of professionalism and courtesy that was not delivered. I believe the assistant manager could benefit from training in customer service and communication. Listening to understand a customer’s need—not just to respond—is essential. I left the store feeling dismissed and disrespected. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the experience for future customers.
