Very good service so far but I have only had one dealing with them. So hopefully afterwards they will ask me for another review when I know more. One thing is certain and that’s the fact that you won’t drive yourself anywhere if you’ve had any alcohol at all. But that’s a good thing. When I posted this it was right after I had it installed which was no problem at all. Getting it removed is a totally different experience. My six months was up and every time the device said that I needed a recalibration within the next five days I took it to the service provider. Sometimes the same day. Well I had to get them to send me a record of my calibration checks showing the exact dates which I found out later had to be at least 25 days apart. Not necessarily when the device gives you the notice. But they don’t bother to explain that to you when you start. So those two months that I carried it in a day early didn’t count. I found out about this from the DDS of Georgia. The first document that they sent had the right dates but half of them had the wrong year which I didn’t even notice until I got it to the DDS. It took a month to get them to send that first one. Every time I would call them and they would connect me to customer service it was always a person that I could barely understand because of the poor English and they would act as though they had no idea what I was talking about. So I would have to explain it all over again and keep waiting. The whole time they were still drawing that money from my bank account. At one point they told me that the DDS had said that I would have to have it six more months. That was a lie. I did have to keep it an extra two months because I had it calibrated too early twice trusting that they were telling me the right time to go back. I’ve never been so disappointed and angry about a companies actions and bad customer service. As long as they can keep that device in your car you have to pay them. When I finally got the document and it was right and four different trips to the DDS they had the nerve to ask me if I would volunteer to keep it six more months. DO NOT DEAL WITH INTOXALOCK! If you do you’ll certainly regret it. JK Sims

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
