- NKNaomi KunkelNov 17, 20251.07/14/2025, Grandson was driving my car from Ohio to Disney, and had a lug nut shear off causing the wheel to completely come off and damage the vehicle. The car was towed to Mavis Tire in Cordele GA. Since we live in Ohio, Bobby the service manager called me with damages. Wheel Hub Assembly Knuckle, Rotor and Pad. Called again on 7/15/2025 when they had the chance to put the car up on the lift. Additional damage to Lower Control Arm. Total damages were $1630.00. I begged Bobby to make sure the car was fixed correctly as he (19 Years old) would be driving it back to Ohio. When Grandson picks it up to drive home the car shakes and shutters all the way home to Ohio. Once Home, I brought the vehicle to my local Auto Service dealer, and they advised me that the shaking was caused by the Wheel Bearing was completely shot and full of Metal Shavings and should have been replaced. My Local Auto service dealer had to replace the Front Wheel Bearing, the front Left CV Axle shaft and a new Wheel since the wheel was warped. I trusted and specifically asked to make sure the vehicle was fixed to correct Specification. They did not. I trusted Bobby and the Mavis Technicians to fix the vehicle, so it was safe to drive from Georgia to Ohio. There is no way that Mavis should not have known about the wheel bearing, IF it was repaired correctly and test driven. By the Grace of God, he got home safely. I would NEVER suggest anyone take their vehicles here for service. They or at least this Technician is either incompetent or negligent.

It was just me and my daughter in a strange town, mid-road trip, a truck I know nothing about...my anxiety was high. Two guys came over, super quickly, and got us back on the road within minutes, with some helpful pointers in case it happened again. I am so grateful to those two gentlemen. Thank you!!!
