I am long time Emerald Club member you for years who would rent 30+ per year for personal and business. I am even go out of my way to travel to airport in ATL to rent cars (1.5 - 2 hour round trip). I recently rented for personal and during rental had a business trip come up. After learning, I called the offices to extend the rental to accommodate. Went on with my business and didn't think anything of it. 4 days later I was checking spam email and found emails from National requesting to return the car as it was overdue (apparently they never extended the rental in the system). One email even went on to say that they were sending someone to repossess the vehicle and reporting the car as stolen. They had a 3rd party company make 4 consecutive calls to me in 1 minute (which show up as "Spam Risk") then tracked down family members to see if they can help tell where I was. Lastly, they have put me on some "Do Not Rent" list and have told me I need to pay $350 to be taken off the list. My issue is: 1. Do they even look to see that I am long time member of their loyalty program and treat me as such? 2. Even if I didn't call to extend my rental, it was overdue by 4 days (guaranteed by a credit card), did it need to be reported stolen and sick "authorities" on me? 3. Are they really trying to extort $350 out of me to get off their supposed "Do Not Rent" list? Disappointed because, before this, I would sing the praises of National, their loyalty program as well as their sister partners. Hate to take my business to another carrier but after this treatment (and not paying $350) it looks like I might have to do such.

The manager Leroy and his team at Hartsfield Jackson airport were simply amazing. After an extremely frustrating experience using the app to try and book my rental using redemption points and then getting even more frustrated calling the “cuss”tomer support line and them basically telling me it’s “too bad” - I returned my vehicle in an absolutely horrible mood and attitude. Leroy’s team, however, went out of their way to be kind, understanding, and worked to try to resolve the issue even though they did not cause it. There were a lot of other cars being returned at the same time so everyone was busy, but the entire team was aware of the customers’ needs; each team member I came in contact with worked to make sure that I didn’t leave without being fully satisfied and my issue resolved. (I wasn’t making a big scene or yelling or anything like that, but the team member processing the return was so engaged and aware of how irritated I was that he made it a point to get his manager, Leroy, right away, and to not let me walk away unless I was 100% satisfied). The end result is that am totally impressed with this company’s team here, proud of this generation of young people, and quite frankly, embarrassed that I would get so frustrated over something like this in the first place. This experience not only made me appreciate Leroy and his team for what they did, it also gave me pause to try and be aware of others and be a better person myself.

If not for the way my experience ended, I would have rated National 5-stars. My son mistakenly left his Nintendo Switch in the car and we discovered this very shortly after we dropped the car off. My husband went to the desk and they refused to check the car or ask the person who collected the vehicle because it didn't 'follow protocol' - he nearly missed his flight for nothing! We filled out the form and the Switch has not been located, which means it was stolen by someone who worked here out of the vehicle. Make sure you take all belongings with you because National apparently steals from their customers!

Rental experience at Hartsfield Jackson National is (almost ) always a super positive one! The car is always clean, predictable, low mileage, smoke free and well maintained. This time I rented an SUV from Emerald Aisle and the car was great. Check out was fast and friendly, no issues with the car, (it had just over 4,000 miles on it) and check in was streamlined, cheerful and professional. Personnel are always helpful and the overall experience was awesome! Thank you, National!

Had a flight get delayed which caused my group (11 people total) to miss our connecting flight. We decided to rent cars and drive home. We spent a while trying to decide what size cars we needed from the Executive Aisle when the attendant Kaelin started helping us. After some discussion, he offered us a 15 passenger van at no extra cost. He turned a stressful travel day around quickly! We’ve only had good experiences with National so far and this was by far the best!
