They severely overfilled my oil, which caused damage to my alternator, serpentine belt, and battery - confirmed by my independent mechanic who had to repair the damage for $1,250. When I contacted the manager and district manager about this, they refused to accept responsibility. Instead, they blamed ME and claimed it was just my “aging vehicle.” My RDX was running perfectly before their service. Overfilling oil is a well-documented cause of engine damage. The excess oil gets whipped into foam and sprays onto belts and electrical components - exactly what happened here. This wasn’t age or wear and tear - this was directly caused by their mistake during the oil change. The complete lack of accountability from management is appalling. They would rather blame the customer than admit their technician made an error. This is not how a reputable business operates. I have all documentation from my mechanic confirming the overfill and resulting damage. Jiffy Lube’s refusal to make this right shows they don’t stand behind their work. Do yourself a favor - take your vehicle to a dealership or trusted independent mechanic. The few dollars you might save here isn’t worth the risk of expensive damage and zero support when things go wrong.
