I went back to the mechanic, who kept the car overnight and confirmed the battery was indeed defective. Only after I contacted Advance Auto Parts corporate and shared the diagnostic results did they agree to replace the battery. Since the swap, I’ve had no issues—but they still refused to reimburse the diagnostic fee. To be clear, the store staff weren’t the problem. The real issue is the flawed policy that prevents proper testing and delays warranty fulfillment. Advance Auto Parts needs to update its procedures to better support customers and honor its product guarantees.
