  AWFUL!!!!! PLEASE TRUST THE REVIEWS WITH ONE STAR!!! I wish I would have! I reserved a car and paid in advance. However, when I got there the rude employee stated she didn't have any more cars. BUT THAT WAS A LIE!!!!!!! It was a Sunday and they close at 2 and she was ready to go home!!!!!! Me and another guy that was there shared an Uber to the airport to rent a car! PLEASE, Do NOT rent a car from 140 Courtland Street Downtown Atlanta!! I wish I could have given 0 stars!!!!!!

  Despite prior call which cards could me used, the information given was not honored. Also Chime or Debit cards not accepted. Beware! They try to make additional money by all means.

  Avoid renting from Budget Rent a Car in Atlanta. While the in-person pickup was just slow (over an hour despite a prepaid reservation), the real issue has been everything that followed. What should have been an $80 rental somehow turned into over $600 in charges, and trying to get this corrected has been a nightmare. For over two weeks, I’ve been dealing with their customer service, and the experience has been consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, especially over the phone and via email. Instead of actually addressing the issue, they’ve been unhelpful, vague, and at times completely unwilling to take responsibility. This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had. I would strongly recommend going with another rental company if you want to avoid the headache.

  Review for Jace – Budget Car Rental, Downtown Atlanta, GA My experience at the Budget Car Rental location was extremely disappointing and far below the level of customer service one should reasonably expect when renting a vehicle. In over two decades of renting cars across the country, I have never encountered a service experience so lacking in basic courtesy. Upon entering the branch, Jace did not greet me, introduce himself, or acknowledge my presence in any welcoming manner. Instead, while continuing to look at his computer screen, he simply asked, “Are you here to pick up a rental?” When I replied “yes,” his immediate response was a curt, “ID and credit card.” There was no attempt to build rapport, provide assistance, or even offer a simple smile. The entire interaction felt cold, transactional, and as though my presence was somehow an inconvenience. Rather than feeling like a valued customer, I left the counter feeling as if I had frustrated the agent simply by being there. Equally disappointing was the vehicle itself. In 2026, receiving a rental car that does not even offer Apple CarPlay is surprising and frustrating, especially when modern connectivity is a standard feature that many travelers rely on for navigation and communication. Overall, this was an awful service experience paired with an underwhelming vehicle. After more than 25 years of consistently excellent service with National Car Rental, this experience has reminded me why customer service truly matters. Unfortunately, my visit to Budget left me regretting that I chose to try a different company this time. I sincerely hope management reviews both the customer service approach at this location and the quality of vehicles being provided to customers. A rental experience should feel professional and welcoming—not uncomfortable and dismissive.
