All the staff here are always extremely helpful they do everything they can to tend your automotive needs. Extraordinary personalities. They seem to never be having a bad day. And by the way Advance Auto Parts now has the best rewards program in the world. Thumbs up and a thousand thanks to Advance Auto Parts. It would be robbery to leave this review without mentioning associate Ms. Deborah in Americus, Ga. she is an amazing outstanding automotive genius. Her customer service, advice and care is extremely helpfull. If I owned a parts store I would have to have her.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
