- RRRanada RobinsonMar 13, 20265.0I had another amazing experience at this location. I don't stay far from anything in Americus, Ga, so I walked from home with my dead battery in my cart. First, I stopped at O'R**** and was not greeted and was looked upon as if I had no money, it was not busy and Kyle looked at me up and down, after that I admittedly left. I took my cart and proceeded to Advance and I felt right at home, welcoming. Mr. Steven checked my battery and it was dead. He helped me get everything I needed and took care of the old battery, and put my new one in my cart and sent me on my way. The store manager was there, and he was very nice as well. I recommend this location to anyone, and sweet Mz. Chloe is still there as well. I wish them much success at this location and thanks for receiving me and delivering exceptional service.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
