- LSLawrence StengerApr 20, 20261.0Let’s start with my son’s 1989 Ford F-150. Had them replace the clutch and with everything on the drivetrain dropped from the vehicle I asked if the U Joints should be replaced. The mechanic showed me that there was not any real play in the U Joints, so recommends not replacing them. Part is like $25 and I should have insisted they be replaced. Within 3K miles the u joint going into the transmission goes out and causes the transmission input bearing to get the egg beater treatment and fail. Entire transmission had be rebuilt (not by them) for $3K. Went to get the oil changed in a classic Mustang I own and they put an oil filter for 1995-2025 Ford vehicles PG-241 versus the much larger FL-1A just because it threaded on there would be my guess. I would not recommend taking your vehicle to this shop, even for an oil change.

He did not try to upsell me or convince me I needed any services my car wasn’t due for yet. I went because I thought I needed an oil change and he took his time checking my oil, filter, and other fluid levels letting me know that everything looked great and I was good to go.
