However, when I went to recycle my car battery expecting to receive the $10 car battery recycle gift card, I had a negative experience. I arrived around 9:55 a.m., and a dark hair tall employee took the battery to the back room and returned—but never processed the gift card. I waited in line to see if it would be handled, but he flat-out told me they don’t do that anymore. I’m not the type to complain, argue, or make a scene, so I just left and continued with my day. In the car, I checked the website, which clearly shows that the car battery recycling program is still active as of 09/21/2025. That means I was straight-up lied to. For years I usually take my old batteries to AutoZone because I know they honor the program, but I chose this location because it was closer. After this experience, though, I’ll likely avoid it. Very disappointed overall, gotta do better.
