I asked where the specific oil was, and was dismissed by an older Santa look-alike, that said “sorry my hands are full, I guess yours are too haha.” Aidon B was fantastic and helped me locate the oil, check out, and even popped my hood, but I ultimately had to place my newborn on the ground in the heat and put in the oil myself. I realize the extent of the services are limited to battery installation, but I would expect better from the staff. I appreciate Aidon’s efforts, though I will not be using Advanced Auto Parts in the future.

They helped me find MFA cleaner, air filters and wiper blades and explained all of my options. This experience stood out to me as almost going above and beyond because it's becoming increasingly common to feel dismissed or encounter persons disinterested in their job. This scenario was the opposite. Hats off to these guys, and if management happens to be reading reviews, you've done a great job with training and please take care of your employees at this location.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
