- BKBrian K828Dec 10, 20255.0Returned to the store to have a battery checked I purchased two years earlier due to my car not starting. Had to jump it twice. Once in the parking lot of Advanced. I had my receipt and was approached by Lucy the store manager. She was amazing!!! Immediately stated she would resolve the issue. She grabbed her battery meter and checked the battery, alternator and starter for any issues. All checked out as good however because the battery was under warranty she wanted to replaced the battery anyway. SHE replaced it. She didn’t ask one of the male techs to handle it. She retrieved a battery and tools and in a few minutes I had new battery, my car started and I was on my way and has been starting without issues since. Thank you Lucy for your smile, positive “I can help” attitude and great customer service.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
