My wife and I were traveling in our own car from South Carolina, and we received a cracked windshield while driving in Florida. I made an appointment at the closest Safelite location, and they told me they would probably need the car for most of the day. Since we didn't want to sit at Safelite for an entire day, I rented a car through Enterprise, mainly because of their "We'll pick you up" slogan. I received an email confirmation that said Enterprise would pick me up at 9:30AM the next day at the Safelite location. At 9:32 they still hadn't shown up, so I called the Enterprise corporate number, and after a long hold, they told me they would have someone come pick me up as soon as possible. At 9:53 I was still waiting, so I called the local Enterprise office, who had not heard anything from corporate. I was finally picked up by Enterprise around 10:10. When I arrived at the office, I was told by Chris, the assistant manager, that "you're supposed to call the office to get picked up." I told him that both the Enterprise agent whom I spoke with the day before AND the email confirmation said that I would be picked up at Safelite at 9:30. I showed Chris the email confirmation from my phone, but rather than show empathy, he just repeated "you're always supposed to call the office". When I asked him what he would have done if he received an email like I did confirming the pickup location, he evidently didn't like my attitude and told me that he wouldn't rent a car to me. I promptly left and got a ride from Lyft. I'm not sure that I'll ever rent from Enterprise again.
