Our experience started out a bit shaky, we had some issues with the brake lights and turn signals on our GMC SUV. Made one phone call and was instructed to return car for an exchange.
Upon arrival Irina took charge and made the exchange happen in No Time.
Her disposition and people skills are unmatched.

I had no issues, was happy with the car & the shuttle, and would have provided 5 stars. However, I need to provide this warning. Be sure to take very detailed pictures and/or video at pickup. Luckily I did. Three days after my return I received an email noting new damage to the vehicle. My pickup pictures matched up to their "new damage" pictures. They quickly dropped it and notified me they were closing the case. It could have been extra charges if I did not have proof it was already there.

Extremely disappointed in my experience with Sixt.
Six months ago, I prepaid $760 to reserve a Premium SUV (Chevrolet Suburban or similar) for my family of five. We’re flying to Florida a few days before a 7 day cruise, so we specifically booked a large SUV to accommodate five large suitcases plus carry-ons. While we technically could fit in something smaller for daily use, luggage capacity was the entire reason for booking a Suburban-sized vehicle.
This morning, I went into my reservation to simply push my drop-off time back by ONE hour (from 11am to 12pm). The system indicated it would not change my rate and seemed like a seamless update. However, after confirming, I noticed my vehicle category had been downgraded to a “Luxury Midsize SUV (BMW X1 or similar).” That vehicle would not even come close to fitting our luggage needs.
When I called customer service, I was told there were no more Suburbans available. I was offered a Tahoe instead… okay, fine… but then informed the new price would be $1,860. That’s $1,100 MORE than what I prepaid for a larger vehicle six months ago.
I was told rates are “subject to change.” Why should I be penalized for adjusting the drop-off time by one hour, especially when the website indicated there would be no rate change? This feels incredibly misleading.
When I requested a refund, I was initially told I would lose $100 because of the prepaid booking. I had to demand a full refund for what was clearly not my error. They eventually agreed as a “one time courtesy”, but informed me it could take 10–15 business days to process… and we fly in five days.
This experience felt like bait-and-switch pricing. I had previously used Sixt and been very happy, which makes this even more disappointing. I will not be booking with them again.
Thankfully, I was able to reserve a Premium XL SUV with another company at nearly the same rate as my original booking.
Travelers beware: not just of modifying prepaid reservations, but of booking with Sixt at all. If a simple one hour adjustment can result in a downgraded vehicle and an $1,100 price increase, that’s not a company I can confidently recommend.

Perhaps the worst experience I've had renting a car. Needed a vehicle for a 2 day trip. Wasn't asking for much. Just something to accommodate my family of 4 with luggage and 2 car seats. Got a Ford expedition and proceeded to drive up to Orlando. Mid way there the car started shaking. Definitely didn't feel safe but decided to continue and planned to switch out the car once I got there. Did exactly just that. They switched my car, but the minute I got in, it smelled of a cigarette smoke odor. Overwhelming cigarette smoke. Unfortunately for us, they didn't have anything else and told us we would have to go to the airport to get another one. I really didn't want to be much of a bother so we just dealt with it. Left the windows cracked. Eventually we went "nose blind" to it. We drove back down, and when it came time to return the car, I went to the location to return it. There was an employee out there processing returns so I approached her, she told me to place the keys in the car and I was good to go. Didn't collect my information, didn't get the reservation number, and didn't even care to ask where I parked the car. Once I got home and was able to think clearly, I thought that was odd so I called customer service to let them know of the situation and for them to ensure someone was processing the car as returned. They assured me everything would be fine and they'd call the store. Later on I get an email telling me that I needed to return the car because it was past due. In summary, I got a broken car, a replacement that reeked of cigarette smoke, and falsely charged an additional day for a car I returned and took every precaution to process properly.
