- NMNick MackJan 27, 20265.0Called a different auto parts store down the road first asking if they would be able to check my battery to be told "it's hard to see in the dark" before calling Advance Auto Parts. Dominick picked up and let me know he'd be happy to not only check my battery, but install it, and if I chose to not purchase the battery, jump my truck to get me home. Upon inspection of my battery he noticed the battery I had was purchased from the auto parts store down the road I called first and that it should still be covered under warranty and that I should try there first. First of all, that is unheard of customer service in todays world to not be so sale-first focused and to actually try to help the customer out by letting them know there's a chance this could be taken care of for free at a different store. I let Dominick know that if it wasn't covered I would be back. It ended up being just out of warranty and instead of just purchasing the battery at the different location I happily drove the five minutes back to Advance Auto Parts to purchase the new battery from Dominick. I know the installation is a service offered by Advance, but what's not always standard in that offering, is the unmatched customer service Dominick displayed. It was already dark out and the temperature had dropped probably 20 degrees from when the sun was out. That did not stop Dominick from being polite, friendly, and making sure my vehicle was taken care of before heading back in. After my experience tonight, I will not be shopping anywhere else but Advance Auto Parts for my auto parts needs. I hope this review finds its way to Dominick's manager and that he is recognized because the customer service he displayed tonight is what wins customers for life. Thanks again, Dominick.

The day after placing the order went to the store to pick the other 3 items and was informed by the store associate that THEY could have ordered the items THAT morning and had them at there that afternoon. Now the day after that and my order still supposedly hasn't even been shipped yet.

My battery was completely dead, I had AAA give me a jump and after a few phone calls to see if my battery was available off to the closet place I went, Walmart ….BAD idea! Due to having a newer Chevy with auto shut off I needed an H6 AGM. Needless to say I ended up calling roadside for the second time because not only did they not have my battery they also were unable to jump my car battery. In addition to this, they told me my alternator was going bad…..once up and running AAA followed me to Advance. Within 5 min Dominic had a new battery in my car and was testing my alternator. Suprise, surprise my alternator was just fine….. I am so thankful that Dominic was able to get me on the road and running quickly and put my fears about my alternator to rest! This is what good service is!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
