My concern is with your device. I am away on business weekly for days. Your device runs off of my car battery which puts it in danger of dying thus creating a false violation. I’m trying to figure out how to make sure the battery doesn’t die while I’m away whether it for my business or vacation. Please advise.

The guys did a fantastic job, they’ve done plenty of other work for me, so I already knew how great their service is. Great job teaching me about the device!

When I signed up for the interlock over thephone, I was made to believe cost would be around $300. In reading the fine details of the lease agreement. I come to find out it's $900 +.
After my initial review Isaias from intoxalock customer service reached out to me. He took the time to listen to me and understand my frustrations. He also gave me a number where I could reach him cuz I was busy at the time when he called. In between the time that we talked the first time and the second time he took the time to listen to the phone call from when I signed up with intoxalock. And understood where the confusion came from. He then credited my account for the fair amount and made everything right in my eyes. Great customer service and great employee for that company! I would highly recommend intoxalock to anyone needing their services. And if you do have troubles reach out to them and I'm sure their customer service will be happy to help you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
