Unfortunately, my experience with this location has been extremely frustrating and inconsistent.
I booked a rental online through Priceline for a total of $238, taxes and fees included. I understood I would be receiving a basic vehicle and had no issue with that. At pickup, the employee assisting me offered an upgrade to a Toyota Corolla for $11 more per day. When I asked what my new total would be, I was shocked when it jumped to around $420 nearly $200 more for a 5-day rental.
I had my own insurance, yet they still attempted to charge me about $30 more than my rental agreement stated, claiming it was for taxes and fees. I showed my itinerary clearly indicating taxes and fees were already included. After that, there was no explanation they simply corrected the charge.
Once I got home (I live in Sun City and had picked up the car on my lunch break), I realized the math still didn’t make sense. I was on hold for 20 minutes, only to be told by the same employee that it was “his mistake” and I would need to drive all the way back for it to be fixed. I had to leave work again. When I returned, the employee acted as if he didn’t even recognize me or the situation. Eventually, I was put into an SUV and sent on my way.
I later spoke with the branch manager, Ethan, and explained everything. He apologized, gave me his card, and told me he would “take care of” that rental and help me with the next one. That never happened, the rental was not adjusted as promised.
Fast forward to December, I needed a pickup truck. I emailed Ethan as instructed, no response. When I later called the branch, Ethan answered and apologized, saying he must have overlooked my email. He told me to come in and they would make it work despite me using a debit card, even offering to arrange pickup in Sun City and promising to email me the details and pricing so I could plan accordingly.
That email never came. I followed up again, still nothing. The next day(today), just an hour before closing, I called to check in. Ethan’s response was simply that I would need a credit card to rent a truck, completely contradicting what he had previously assured me he would arrange.
So after multiple calls, emails, promises, and wasted time, nothing was done.
Mistakes happen! I understand that. But repeated incorrect charges, misinformation, lack of communication, and broken promises are unacceptable. This location’s customer service is unreliable, and unfortunately, I cannot trust the information I’m given here.
