- CHCoach Hal2 days ago1.0I stopped in to purchase a single wiper blade. The purchase itself was simple, but the salesperson said he couldn’t install it because it was dark outside, which I can understand. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get it on myself, so I ended up going to Walmart where they helped me, and that’s likely where I’ll be shopping in the future. When I returned to this store to return the unused blade, the employee told me—rather rudely—that the receipt I had was not the “actual receipt,” even though it was the one given to me at the time of purchase. After some back and forth, they finally processed the return only after I provided my driver’s license. Overall, the experience involved poor customer service, unfriendly staff, and a lack of product knowledge. Not a place I would recommend. 🚫

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
