Jiffy lube completed oil change. The car didn't have coolant due to a slow leak in a hose connection. Jiffy lube did not identify this issue, but claimed a coolant flush needs to be done in order to add coolant for a cost of $300. My daughter didn't have the money for this and declined. Coolant check is part of the service that was paid for. Other items on the checklist weren't completed and the oil service indicator in the car wasn't reset. A couple miles down the road I had to meet my daughter due to the car overheating. I added water as coolant and she was able to drive the car until we identified the leak and had it fixed by another mechanic. The service team of jiffy lube said they are "reviewing this with the team as a training session on accuracy and clarity." The service team went on to say: "Regarding the coolant, our policy does not allow coolant to be added or serviced without customer authorization. Since the flush was declined, no coolant service was performed. That said, clearer communication should have occurred prior to releasing the vehicle." Nobody would refuse coolant unless it was only offered as a $300 fee and didn't have the money at the time and would not have driven the car if aware of no coolant in the vehicle. Jiffy Lube didn't provide the premium service that was paid for and only offered to train their mechanics better.
