- HJHannah JohannesMay 2, 20251.0Warning !! Please read. Do not bother renting a truck here. Penske has been my go to in renting trucks for moving and I have always had good and affordable experiences. But this simple, in town and should have been easy moving situation costs me almost $500. Returned the truck in perfect condition, full tank of gas and ONLY used to to drive furniture across town a couple times (used a quarter of a tank only) and the “mileage” the charged me for was astronomical. Completely and absolutely ridiculous and corporate thieves at work. Zero customer concern and will definitely over charge as much as they can so seek other options in St Augustine and do not rent from this Home Depot. This isn’t a petty rant. This is a warning/ $39 a day easy in town rental with a truck returning in the same perfect condition and I got almost $500 taken from me including the $150 deposit I have not paid at other rental locations they they took for “over mileage “. Seriously I have rented UHaul and Penske plenty times and gone long distances and never ever ever had to pay this much. It’s disgusting. Stay away from this location and really find non corporate options they have been far better.

I called Penske and told them I was being delayed in moving into my Condo, and they kept on giving me an extension, and they didn’t charge a fortune. Thank you Penske.
