Had an appointment for 11AM. Got here 30 minutes early, they didn’t even take my car into the bay until 11:30 so an hour after arrival. It’s now noon and they literally just started fixing the chip. Absolutely ridiculous, I’ve used safelite multiple times before and it’s always been an easy experience and they came to me but because the online system refused to let me book an appointment for at least 4 months out I had to come here. Terrible experience

I am beyond frustrated with Safelite and how poorly this situation was handled from start to finish.
Safelite replaced my windshield in 2019 or 2020. In May 2025, I noticed a leak during rain on the driver’s side where the windshield meets the headliner. I’m an international student and am only home 1–2 times a year, so this wasn’t something I could immediately address. When I did, Safelite performed a leak test on July 22, 2025 and confirmed the windshield was leaking. They took responsibility and replaced the windshield in early August.
Because the leak went on for some time, it caused damage to my headliner. After confirming the leak, the manager at the St. Augustine location explicitly told me IN PERSON to get an estimate from an auto body shop so Safelite could cover the damage. I did exactly that and handed him the estimate at my windshield replacement appointment. He told me he would submit it to corporate for approval and that I would be contacted with next steps. I was never called.
After weeks of no follow-up, my dad attempted to help while I was back in school overseas. He was bounced between locations, and told to go to Jacksonville because that was the original service location. Due to my dad’s back surgery and recovery, this was delayed, but when I returned home in December, I went to the Jacksonville location myself.
That’s when I was told that the St. Augustine manager now claims he “never said” the headliner would be covered — directly contradicting what he told me and the reason I was instructed to get an estimate in the first place.
The lack of communication, accountability, and consistency is unacceptable. I was given false assurances, ignored, and then effectively gaslit when I tried to resolve the issue. This has been an exhausting and incredibly disappointing experience.
I would strongly caution anyone against trusting Safelite’s word when it comes to follow-through or damage claims.

Safelite broke my parents windshield when they came out, then had a broken part, then didn't have a replacement part. They have had the car undrivable for over a week. If you plan on using this location, I would recommend you either try somewhere else, or be ready to be without your car for a long while.

I had a large crack across my windshield and Dwight came out and took care of it. The install was done very well. From great communication on arrival and completion of the project to the clean install. Dwight was extremely kind and polite. Really solid guy. Highly recommended. Easiest process I have ever gone through in car repair service.

We signed up to get a windshield replacement and new windshield wipers. Set up the appointment online. The technician called before they were on their way. Got to the house and had the wrong windshield so he had to leave. Came back hours later. Put the windshield in but then didn't have time to recalibrate the windshield or to put the wipers on. So a second appointment was made for someone to come back and recalibrate the windshield and put on the new wiper blades. This 2nd technician was ready to install a new windshield when I let him know that had already been done. Just the recalibration and wiper blades needed to be replaced. Both technicians were very nice but not well prepared or well informed about what needed to be done. Seems like information from the main office is not accurate. But it was very convenient for them to come to our house and they did get the job done.
