We chose Marina Jack primarily because of the services advertised, including 24/7 diesel availability and a self-service pump-out station directly on the dock, which is very convenient for visiting boaters.
Upon arrival, we were informed that the pump-out cart was located in the middle of the dock and that we simply needed to notify staff for them to start the pump. That sounded perfect.
However, the following day, after installing all the necessary equipment for the pump-out, there was no suction at all. Several staff members tried to help, but without success. We were then told to move to the service dock instead. We did so the next day, and while there was also a problem initially, it eventually worked.
Since we were already there, we decided to take on diesel fuel. I needed approximately 120 gallons and paid in advance for that amount at pump #2. After several minutes of fueling, I checked the meter and it showed only 2.2 gallons, increasing extremely slowly. A staff member then informed me that the pumps operate at about 1 gallon per minute, meaning 120 gallons would take nearly two hours.
Had this information been communicated upfront, I would never have chosen to fuel there. For a marina of this caliber, one expects the equipment to function properly and for critical limitations like this to be clearly communicated.
While apologies are appreciated, with the number of staff on site, it should be easy to perform daily equipment checks and maintain better communication with management to ensure proactive maintenance. This would greatly improve the experience for visiting boaters and prevent unnecessary frustration.
