- ESEve Smith3 days ago1.0I had a very uncomfortable experience renting with Alamo/Enterprise that I feel needs to be addressed. My credit card was showing an error (not a decline), so I stepped away from the desk to call my bank. The bank informed me that I may have been using an expired card. I checked and realized I was, so I returned to the counter with my valid credit card and ID. At that point, I was assisted by Blake. I handed him my ID and credit card and explained the situation. Instead of simply proceeding, he began questioning me directly from my ID as if I were attempting to scam—going as far as asking me to verbally verify my birthdate. I rent cars frequently and have never experienced this level of scrutiny after providing valid identification and payment. I’m not sure what assumptions were being made, but the interaction felt targeted and unnecessary. I work in this line of work and I know what profiling looks like. Whether this was because I booked through a third party (Expedia) or something else, the treatment was unacceptable. For someone in a leadership role, Blake should know better. This experience left a very bad impression, and I will not be renting from Alamo or Enterprise again.
