I'm a teacher at one of the local schools in Oviedo. On my way home, I drove my car to valvaline. on 426 and Red Bug Lake road to get an oil change. They quoted me $143 for an oil change so I declined because I found it to be too expensive. The young guy asked me if I wanted him to fill my tires with air and check my windshield wiper fluid levels for free. I thought that was nice even though I wasn't getting an oil change there so I agreed. My car was running the entire time as I watched this young guy put fluids in my engine area. I was under the impression he was only putting windshield wiper fluid like he told me. Instead, while the car was running and hot he started pouring coolant into the car. As he poured the coolant, my car suddenly shuts off and I could no longer turn it on again. I told him that my car shut off and he argued with me saying that it didn't. I asked him what he did and he said he poured coolant in the car. I told him that I never asked him to put coolant in my radiator. My car is now dead at their shop and they are NOT taking responsibility for what happened. The kid that poured the coolant into the car was on his phone Googling the diagram for my jetta to see if he was pouring the liquids in the proper places. If you have to google to double check your work then clearly something's wrong. The bottom line is my father spoke to the manager and the manager is claiming no responsibility for my car dying in their shop in the bay while their mechanic was working on it. We were told to leave the car at valvaline overnight, and they would call us in the morning. Instead, my dad gets a call from the manager claiming no responsibility for anything. My dad is going to forward this to our attorneys and this is just step one of a campaign to let people know what our experience was like at this valvaline location. If this manager was smart, he would have at least drained the fluids that were put in by this young worker to make sure nothing foreign or contaminated was put into my vehicle.. instead he declined to do anything. So now we are going to check the fluids that were put in, and if there's any contamination found or any electrical work that was damaged by this young man we will be suing valvalene. It's not a coincidence that you pull into a shop with a working vehicle and when their worker is working on your car, the car dies and doesn't turn on again. My dad told me that they even damaged his wife's minivan by cracking her oil pan during an oil change a few years ago and they said nothing. Once again, these oil changes are being done by underpaid young kids. Buyer bewareIf if they damage your car, they're more than likely not going to fix it.
