This public EVgo charging station in Orlando provides fast EV charging for all major electric vehicles. Located on Turkey Lake Road, it’s near Whole Foods, Dunkin' Donuts, and Five Guys. The location offers 24/7 access and has CCS connectors. While charging, drivers can visit nearby shops or grab food within walking distance. Customers can use the EVgo app to view charger availability, track sessions, and view Time of Use pricing.
EVgo needs to fix both its app accuracy and station reliability.
At Philips Crossing (8015 Turkey Lake Rd, Orlando, FL), the app regularly shows stations as “busy” when the spaces are actually empty, and other times shows availability when the equipment is not working. This is misleading for drivers who rely on real-time information, especially when arriving with low battery.
I’ve been rerouted four separate times due to incorrect app status or nonfunctional chargers. That’s not a one-off issue — that’s a pattern.
Customer support is available, but wait times of 7–10 minutes don’t help when you’re actively trying to charge and keep working.
Charging infrastructure should be reliable and accurate. Right now, this location and the app are not meeting that standard. Other networks manage to keep multiple working stations available consistently, so this is clearly solvable.
I just want a consistent experience where I can charge without being sent from station to station.

This has become my preferred charger since my last charger review. While it isn't the absolute fastest in the area, it is more than fast enough to top up your charge while you run a quick errand in the plaza.
I STRONGLY suggest downloading the app and setting up an account if you use public chargers like this one, as this particular charger now recognizes my car and instantly begins charging and bills me at a reduced rate thanks to the very low monthly fee. And it is genuinely plug it in and walk away (or take a quick nap) for me at this point.
Never once have these chargers been out of service when I needed them, and while I have seen people pull in to the spot I vacated to begin their charge, I personally have never had to wait for this one either. Even if you do have to, it's fast enough that you'll probably wait no more than 20 minutes at most for a spot to open up.

First time using EV Go but pretty easy after I set up the auto charge feature. Not cheap.
