We had an experience recently with a competitor (I won’t mention their name) on another car we own and it was disastrous and our second car was out of commission for a month due to calibration issues with seats, displays, etc. Safelite was amazing for my car and they arrived early and were extremely prompt and polite and finished with flying colors.

I had an appointment scheduled for Christmas Eve at 8:00 a.m. and arrived at 8:17 a.m. Yes, I was late — by two minutes beyond their stated 15-minute grace period. Despite the shop appearing mostly empty, the front desk employee was short and rude and immediately said there was nothing she could do. She explained that because of the type of car I have, the windshield replacement takes four hours, and that missing the grace period by two minutes meant they would not honor the appointment. When I asked why a two-minute discrepancy couldn’t be worked around under the circumstances, I was simply told there was nothing that could be done. The overall attitude felt rigid and dismissive. It gave the impression that their close affiliation with insurance companies has made them complacent about customer service.I called another shop the same day and had my windshield replaced within two hours — with significantly better service and flexibility.If your insurance defaults to this company, I strongly suggest calling around and going elsewhere.
