As a corporate traveler, the ease and convenience of the emerald isle is an invaluable time saver for my team.
It is easy to make reservations on the website and having the company defaults automatically pull up every time makes the reservation process like 3 steps.
I recently had a rental car battery die and finding the roadside assistance nunber was super easy and it took me directly to someone. Didn't have to go thru a maze of options to get to a human.
Granted the first phone call to roadside was not up to the standards that I have come to know from national. This is part of my review is of the individual's service not the company as a whole. The phone rep was less empathetic to my situation (being stranded at almost midnight, and not as serviable as I would have liked. She said I would receive roadside in about 15 minutes, I waited over an hour without a single text or phone call from roadside... I ended up taking an Uber at 1am to my Airbnb.
The next day I called again and a more useful rep took the call and was able to help better. They set up a unattended vehicle recovery and asked me to just turn the keys in.
While the midnight situation was less than ideal, the next day, when I returned the keys to the airport location on my way back to my flight, a manager was sent to collect the keys and hear me out. This manager of the Orlando MCO airport location (gave me a card with the name Keegan) he heard me out, thanked me for my patience and made me feel like he cared and wanted my company's business. He offered compensation for the inconvenience and the uber rides I had to take. His level customer service and his attention made me feel like a valued customer and this is what is needed in more companies. Thank you very much for this and for your attention.
I was then called the next day by another customer service rep to confirm the compensation offered and to ensure everything was made right. I truly appreciated the service and the support offered.
I will continue to use National car rentals for our company's rentals and I can recommend them to anyone else.

Could not possibly have had a better experience for my first time using National to rent a car. We joined emerald club for free ahead of our visit after reading reviews. When we arrived at the Orlando airport, we followed the very clear signs for the national emerald club/emerald aisle and went outside to where we obtain the car. The woman working asked if we had a reservation to which I showed the Equinox we reserved and she pointed me to the forest place to choose any car we wanted (we chose an Equinox). The keys were in the vehicle, the vehicle had no damage and was extremely clean! When exiting the lot, it took less than 5 minutes and we were on our way.
While driving the vehicle, we did not often need to access the highway. However, when we did, we noticed that the car was rattling when hitting speeds of about 60+. When we returned the vehicle, I shared the feedback with the man working so that they could check it out and he nicely discounted the vehicle rental for us even though I told him I was only sharing for safety reasons and was not expecting anything in return. Overall, everything was smooth and easy. We visit Orlando several times a year and have not rented a car until this trip and we have already been discussing how we want to again with National because of the seamless process!

Escalation Review – National Car Rental
I am writing to report a concerning customer experience involving a missing personal item after returning my rental vehicle.
Immediately after dropping off the car, I realized I had left my Bluetooth headset inside. Within approximately 30 seconds of stepping away from the return lane, I notified an employee and made it clear that the headset was definitely in the vehicle. I was told someone would check.
Within roughly 10 minutes, I was informed that the item could not be found. I stated that this was highly unlikely and asked for a supervisor if the headset was truly missing. I was then told that no one was available to bring the vehicle back up for further inspection.
Before the car was brought forward, a second employee also told me the headset was not inside the vehicle.
Another 30 minutes passed before the car was finally returned. When it arrived, the headset was sitting clearly visible on the floor, exactly where I said it would be. It was found immediately once the vehicle was in front of me.
This sequence of events raises concerns about whether the vehicle was ever thoroughly checked and why such a simple verification required more than 40 minutes. While I am not making an accusation, the experience felt inconsistent and created unnecessary doubt. At minimum, the process lacked urgency, transparency, and proper customer care.
I am requesting a formal review of this interaction, clarity on why the item was not located earlier, and confirmation that proper procedures were followed. I would also appreciate knowing what steps National can take to prevent this type of situation for future customers.

I shouldn’t have to call to resolve an issue caused by your system not recognizing that I returned the vehicle to the correct location.
Additionally, the reservation in the email receipt was changed to reflect a same-airport drop-off, even though I booked a different location. When I questioned this and the extra fees at drop-off, the staff acted as if the error was mine — fortunately, the app still showed the correct reservation I originally made.
It’s concerning how easily this could be missed by others who might not notice the discrepancy and end up being overcharged. I asked that the issue be corrected and steps taken to prevent it from happening again, but I was told nothing would be done. I’d appreciate it if this could be properly reviewed and addressed.

Arrived at MCO after a long flight delay with 3 small children. I reserved a minivan months in advance, received a confirmation text earlier in the day, and yet when we arrived there was no minivan in sight. I went to ask an employee where it might be, he asked to see my reservation, when I pulled up the National app my reservation was missing. Instead of checking the computer he told me I didn't have a reservation and that I'd need to book a new one using "walk up rates". My family was exhausted so I did just that. I loaded my family into the large SUV that I booked, went to start the car...no keys.
So I went back to the counter and the guy looked up my original reservation and voila, there it was. Really wish the first employee would've done that to begin with. The guy at the counter tells me I should've gone to the minivan aisle at Alamo (I rented with National). And he said it as if it was obvious and I should've known. He said to walk back outside, find the row of minivans by the car return section and that the keys would be in them. I unloaded my family from the large SUV, canceled that reservation, found the row of minivans, re-loaded everything, get in to start it....you guessed it, no keys! Went back inside, furious, and they tried to give me keys to a different van. At this point I stood my ground and demanded the keys to the van we were loaded into. My youngest kid was sleeping in the van already. I wasn't about to make them move again.
This whole debacle took almost an hour and no one apologized, took any accountability, or even acknowledged any wrongdoing. Pretty disappointing experience all together.
