Noel Lasalle Troche store manager at 6358 caused me trauma and disruption on the beautiful day I was having all because of some oil I was trying to recycle. I visited AutoZone Store #6358 to properly recycle used motor oil from an oil change I completed the day before. As soon as I walked in, the store manager, Noel Lasalle Troche, insisted on “inspecting” the oil first, which I understood as standard procedure. However, the way he handled the situation was unprofessional and disrespectful.
Instead of simply checking the container, he repeatedly questioned me—asking if I was “sure” it was only oil, implying that it “looked mixed,” and pressing the issue multiple times even after I clearly explained it came directly from my truck. He specifically mentioned that there would be a fine, assuming it has anything other then engine oil. His tone and attitude suggested that he doubted my honesty based solely on appearance, which is unacceptable for any customer-service environment.
We continued to the back of the store where oil is recycled, and once he finally poured it out and realized it was indeed clean used motor oil—just as I had stated—he went completely silent. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of his unnecessary accusations, and no professional courtesy.
This experience reflects poorly on AutoZone’s customer service standards. Customers should be treated with respect—not interrogated or made to feel profiled. I hope this store receives appropriate guidance to ensure no one else has to deal with this kind of treatment.
