    VERY UNSATISFIED AND MISLEAD!! I booked and prepaid for a car rental online with a debit card, they took the money out of my accout with no problem but once I got there to pick up the rental (at the airport that was 1 hour away from my house) I was informed that I have to havr a CREDIT card for the deposit and I could not rent the car. NO WHERE on their website does it state that I would need a credit card at time of pick up. VERY misleading!

    This was our first time renting with Sixt, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. At pickup, I was quoted an insurance price that was significantly higher than what I had seen online. When I raised the discrepancy at the counter, a manager (Brenda) told me she would look into it and follow up. Over the next two weeks, I called, sent multiple text messages, and followed up by email before eventually receiving a generic response from customer service explaining that pickup pricing is fixed and cannot be changed. While I understand that online promotions and counter pricing may differ, the lack of timely communication and follow-through was frustrating — especially after being told the issue would be reviewed. A timely response acknowledging the issue would have made a difference. As first-time customers, this left a poor impression. I will update my review if I hear anything further.

    I'm giving an excellent rating due to an wonderful experience. The Jay(manager) provided admirable service and exceeded my expectations for customer service. Its in my best personal opinion that The Jay is an asset to the company. He showed what great customer experience is about. Thank you Jay

    I had a very disappointing experience renting from Sixt, starting at the Westin Beach location in Fort Lauderdale and ending at the Sonesta ES location in Orlando. I reserved a BMW X1 and specifically chose Sixt for that vehicle. Despite checking in online in advance, I was told upon arrival that no vehicles in that class were available. I was first offered a Toyota RAV4 with a suggested discount, which did not meet my needs. After I indicated I would need to go elsewhere, I was then offered a BMW 5 Series, but only after the employee said he needed approval. I was told I could have the vehicle if I agreed to complete a positive survey. Wanting to continue my trip, I accepted. The vehicle had an unpleasant odor, which I later suspected was due to prior smoking. The next day, I began receiving repeated notifications on my phone that a Bluetooth tracking tag was traveling with me. Initially I dismissed it, but the alerts continued even when I was alone. After investigating, I discovered the tag hidden inside a compartment in the trunk, which raised safety concerns. I contacted the Fort Lauderdale location, and a manager confirmed the tag did not belong to Sixt. I was told this type of situation happens occasionally and that security would be notified. While I was offered a credit, my primary concern was safety and clarity, not compensation. When I returned the vehicle to the Orlando location, there were no employees in the return area. At the desk, staff were unfamiliar with the situation and stated the tracking device was not theirs. I left the tag with them. My receipt initially showed no additional charges. Several hours later, I received an email claiming vehicle damage. Some items listed were already noted on the original agreement, while others were extremely minor. The timing and inconsistencies were concerning, especially after receiving multiple confirmations earlier that the rental had closed without issue. Overall, this rental involved multiple problems: the reserved vehicle not being available, pressure related to surveys, cleanliness issues, a safety concern involving an unknown tracking device, poor communication between locations, and a late damage claim. Unfortunately, I do not feel this experience met reasonable expectations for a rental company, and I will be choosing a different provider in the future.

    My only assumption is that the people who work here do not read or have access to their reservation system, and cut out of work early. Horrible. We had a reservation at 4:00 p.m. We got there just before 4:00 p.m. and everyone was gone. After spending almost 40 minutes on the phone I was told you can rebook at the airport, which is really far away, for nearly 4 times what you booked this for, or we can cancel, but don’t worry, because it is our employee’s fault, we will let you cancel for free. What a horrible waste of time and money. Now we have to use ride share for all our needs and it is going to be a lot more money. Plus my pregnant wife gets car sick when she is not driving, which was one of the main reasons we wanted to rent a car in the first place. She is going to be super sick now because of this lazy employee and this companies refusal to make things right.
