- GRGary RonaldMar 29, 20262.0Today I had my oil changed with full synthetic. No other cars were there so I was able to pull right in. My Rave 4 used 4.5 quarts. This was totally my fault for not asking, I had a $26 off coupon and my bill was still $106 😳. When the tech placed the oil change reminder sticker on the windshield, it had 5,000 mile due for the next oil change. I asked the checked if he used full synthetic oil & he said yes. I asked why the sticker only had 5,000 on the next oil change when full synthetic was rated for 7,500 to 15,000 miles. The tech said because it’s hot in Florida and that’s hard on the oil. Isn’t that what oil coolers are for! Synthetic oil is a high performance, artificially designed oil to protect & last against extreme temperatures. Sorry but I I won’t be using full synthetic oil and changing it at 5,000 miles, especially when they are charging $136 with a filter.
