The employee named Arthur refused to provide the service, saying there was “no program to reset the computer.” I believe the store should have the proper equipment and knowledge to handle such basic services, especially when they are advertised as free. It seemed that the employee simply didn’t want to assist because it was a complimentary service. Very disappointing experience and not what I expected from Advance Auto Parts.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
