- ESEvgenii StepanovApr 5, 20261.0Subject: Complaint About Customer Service – April 5, 2026 I visited your store on April 5, 2026, at approximately 10:40 AM. Upon arrival, the consultant required us to wait outside and only allowed customers to enter one at a time. No explanation was provided for this policy. This situation was very frustrating and unreasonable. The COVID restrictions have long been lifted, and such behavior is difficult to understand. I am not sure whether this was the consultant’s personal decision or store management policy, but it felt completely unnecessary. For a well-known retail store, this kind of treatment is disappointing and unprofessional. I was very upset by this experience. I would appreciate an explanation regarding this situation and clarification on your store policies.

The team member denied me the service stating he couldn’t because he was the only one in the store. It’s not his fault but why offer the service if you don’t have the staffing to honor it. Horrible business model. This location is constantly short staffed. I went to Autozone and received much better service. they will never be seeing me again

Does Advance Auto test and install batteries?
Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
