- CQChristopher QuinnSep 16, 20251.0NEVER AGAIN! Went it tonight and was met with the rudest & most difficult associate imaginable! She refused to assist me and repeatedly argued with & insulted me! I went in to purchase some juice & a bag of nuts and while at the self-checkout requested assistance with purchasing a lotto ticket. Not only did the associate ignore me, but she automatically assumed that I was someone solely paying with credit or debit card and that I could easily conduct whatever transaction I wanted to myself and then be in & out without her having to a lift a finger or say "hello." Like, not only did she seem annoyed & unhappy to help me, but she handled both my food & ticket with DIRTY, WET vinyl gloves! When I attempted the self-checkout for the food portion of my transaction, I accidentally missed a prompt, and it instantly declined my card.... As a result, the system kept malfunctioning while I tried to explain to her that I had simply missed a step and that my card was valid. She then repeatedly insulted me and claimed that the only way the system would decline me is if I had insufficient funds. I then, without doing any personal banking on my phone, proved to her that wasn't the case after she rang me up manually without any technical issues via the same card! Not only did my card go through, but I clearly had enough money for my $10-worth of snacks! And oh, she also initially refused to give me my receipt and gave me the rudest, blankest stare imageable AND even refused to apologize! RaceTrac--STOP hiring lazy, irresponsible people with massive cultural barriers & language barriers! (And I'm saying that as a Brown person belonging to a heavily persecuted minority who was adopted by White people AND as someone who has worked far harder and less forgiving retail positions!) In the morning, I'll be finding out your exact store number and I'll be contacting your district manager. EDIT: Took me 2 minutes: Store Location Number is Store #2348! And yes, my issue tonight was with the same, short, rotund woman with glasses that so many other guests have already expressed repeated issues with!
