A week ago it was a pair of tricky windshield wipers. This morning I went with a first-time car owner / friend of mine to get a new battery. Anthony (the manager) wheeled out a cart and gave my friend red-carpet treatment helping install the battery himself. Great attitude, great customer service, great neighborhood business. Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward.
