I arrived at the store around 7:05 AM on Saturday, expecting it to be open at 7:00 AM as listed online. I later found out that the correct Saturday opening time is 7:30 AM, which was not a problem, so I waited in my car. At 7:35 AM, I entered the store to allow the employee some time to get settled. While I was providing my vehicle information, the phone rang and the employee stopped assisting me to handle the call. This added another 5–7 minutes to my wait. Although I was not in a rush, I felt it was unprofessional and discourteous to prioritize a phone call over a customer who was already present and being helped in person. When I raised my concern, the employee explained that the caller had a commercial account. While that may be the case, it should not take precedence over another commercial account holder or any other customer who is physically in the store. I have decided not to disclose the employee name but customer service should be a priority and professional.
