I’ve been coming to JM Lexus in Margate for routine oil changes for a while, and up until this visit, I never had a bad experience. Unfortunately, this last visit completely changed my opinion.
I arrived at 10:30 AM and didn’t even get to speak to a service advisor until around 11:00 AM. From there, things only got worse. I was there for a simple oil change, yet I didn’t leave until about 2:00 PM. During that time, I repeatedly asked for updates on my car, and each time I was told “soon,” with no real explanation or sense of urgency.
At one point, I even left to grab something to eat, came back, and my car still wasn’t ready. After finally making a bigger issue about the excessive wait, the service advisor went to get my car. When it was brought out, I was told it had been washed—but it looked like it had just been sprayed with water. Dirt was still visible, and to make matters worse, the driver-side mirror was bent forward.
There was also no sticker indicating that the oil had been changed, which raised concerns. I had to track down the service advisor again just to confirm the work was done. He told me it was and said I needed to wait for a mechanic to come put the sticker on. That took another 30 minutes because they were “so busy.”
After finally leaving, I realized my horn wasn’t working and the buttons on my steering wheel were no longer functioning—issues that did not exist before my visit.
To make matters worse, I took my car to another shop afterward, and they found that the oil pan drain plug had not been properly tightened, which caused an oil leak. This is a serious oversight that could have led to major engine damage if it had gone unnoticed.
This experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. What should have been a straightforward oil change turned into hours of waiting, poor communication, questionable service quality, and now a potentially dangerous mistake with my vehicle. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this dealership based on this experience.
Frustrated with car I received at another dealer in Miami, I called JM to inquire about an upgrade. I got straight answers, and an excellent initial experience with Carol who took my initial call and the initial order request. She passed my information to Dario the sales rep I dealt with for the rest of the process. Everything was straight forward, they gave me a quote that was very competitive. Since the car had to be built to match my specific requirements the process took a couple of months but Dario called me at every milestone up to delivery with accurate updates. He is courteous, knowledgeable and honest. I will absolutely go back to JM and Dario again for my next car.

From the moment I got the car, there was a horrific odor that literally smelled like a dead animal. Lexus dismissed it as a “new car” odor that would go away in a few weeks. As the first weeks went by, the smell got worse. It turned into something deeply foul, alarming, and honestly scary, as if there were a dead animal hidden somewhere inside the vehicle.
I raised this concern with the dealership immediately, yet it was repeatedly dismissed. I knew something was wrong from day one, and it was incredibly frustrating to have such an obvious issue brushed aside.
When I finally brought the car in for service, even the servicemen were shocked by how severe the smell was. They could not believe how bad it was, yet somehow still could not identify the source. That made the entire situation even more unsettling. A smell this extreme should never have been ignored in the first place.
What made the experience even worse was how Jonathan Wulkan and Jeffrey handled it. Instead of meaningfully helping resolve the issue with the defective car they leased me, I was made to feel as though I was somehow the problem. The only “solution” they offered was to move me into a less expensive car with a lower MSRP while somehow increasing the lease payment even more, which felt incredibly deceptive and unfair.
As someone who has owned multiple Lexus vehicles, this experience completely changed my view of the brand. This dealership’s handling of a serious defect was disgraceful and deeply disappointing. I felt backed into a corner over a car that should never have been leased in that condition.
Thank goodness BMW stepped in and got me out of the lease and into a beautiful BMW X3. After this experience, I will never drive a Lexus again.

All I can say is WOW the service that I received was beyond amazing!!!! Soon as I set foot in the location, I was welcome and felt noticed. I then met with Ms. Melissa and she was a phenomenal person with car knowledge and had a calmness that made the whole entire car experience worthwhile. She was very considerate and listened to everything that I had expressed I wanted in a car. She searched until I was satisfied, and that is above and beyond what I can ask for. I would recommend her to anyone because she brings a certain relaxation to the car buying experience. It was not a pushy transition. It was a Goldilocks “just right” communication, to get me into the car I wanted to drive.
