Unacceptable Failure on a Lexus Certified Vehicle Within 4 Years — JM Lexus Disappointed
I purchased my Lexus Certified 2016 Lexus GS from JM Lexus in 2020 and have serviced it exclusively with JM Lexus for four straight years. Despite paying the premium for a Certified Lexus and trusting their service department with my vehicle, my headlight developed moisture inside — a clear manufacturing defect that should never occur on a certified vehicle.
Instead of standing behind the Lexus Certified program and their own service history, JM Lexus quoted me $3,800 to replace the headlight with zero goodwill assistance or willingness to help a loyal customer.
After four years of loyalty, trust, and consistent service at JM Lexus, this response is unacceptable. If a Certified Lexus can fail like this within four years — and JM Lexus offers no support — it raises serious concerns about the value of Lexus Certified vehicles and the dealership’s commitment to customer care.
I expected better from a dealership claiming to be “#1 in the country.”

This is the second time here to service my daughter's 21 Lexus IS350 and twice I have been disappointed with the service.
I had to replace a tire on my daughters Lexus IS recently due to a blowout she had while coming home from college. She brought her vehicle to JM Lexus since the tires, which I purchased 2 years ago (if that), were bought there. It took forever for them to figure out if the one tire was covered under warranty. To top it off, they told her the vehicle needed rear brakes and rotors. Because I had recently had her vehicle serviced at Lexus of Pembroke Pines prior to leaving for college, I knew this couldn't be possible since the brakes were checked there. I ended up calling Lexus of Pembroke Pines and they said that couldn't be possible since she only put 1500 miles on the car since it was serviced with them. Lexus of PP read the report to me over the phone and said the brakes were fine (in the green)
After 4 hours of her waiting and them insisting the brakes needed to be done and showing her pictures, they returned saying they made a mistake. They said they had the wrong vehicle and her car was fine. They said her brakes had another 10k left on them . Keep in mind I was out of the area, on a short trip, dealing with JM Lexus from afar for those 4 hours with the back and forth calls.
If I hadn't called the other dealership or even made it known to JM Lexus, I would have been $700+ in the hole. I felt they were trying to take advantage of the situation and that my daughter was there pretty much solo.
I felt they were taking advantage of a young girl and her mom. I will be taking her car, as well as my Lexus, elsewhere from now on.
Very disappointed with how everything went and the amount of time lost that day just to, originally, change one tire. Waste of a day!
My advise get a second opinion on work that needs to be done on your car there, or save yourself the aggravation and go somewhere else.
Make sure you keep track of what has been done or you may fall victim to things you don't need. Good thing I did!!!

Please allow me this opportunity to expound on my recent experience at JM Lexus, working with my Lexus Sales Manager Max Bayard. I walked into the dealership about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon to peruse the vehicles in the showroom. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who subsequently introduced me to Max Bayard. Max greeted me warmly, with a big smile, and asked me how he could assist. I told him that I currently had a 2013 Lexus RX 350 which was in great shape, with only about 73K miles, but I just wanted something new. Max asked me what type of vehicle I was looking for, color, features, etc. and he found a car and brought it out so we could take a ride. Max explained all the features and addressed my numerous questions. We then sat down and discussed pricing, options and trade- in value of my car. I assimilated all the information and at that point I told Max I would think about it and get back to him. I subsequently decided to purchase the vehicle, and returned to the dealership a few days later and finalized the sale. One of the main reasons I decided to return and purchase the vehicle from Max , besides the fact I liked the car, was due to Max’s demeanor. He was never “pushy “ and never made me feel I had to make an immediate decision. He did follow-up with me, as he should have done, but was not so persistent to the point that he became annoying. As I told him at the outset, I was serious but not 100% certain I would be buying the car. Max told me he understood this was a big decision and he assured me he would work with me and address all my concerns. So here we are today,…. i am very happy driving my new 2025 Lexus RX 350. Max followed up with me after my purchase checking in to ensure all was well. I would highly recommend the dealership and particularly my sales manager Max Bayard. Thanks Max for a great experience!
