I booked through Expedia, which was clearly stated & illustrated with a picture, as being a sedan, particular mention being made to a Nissan Versa or similar. Upon arrival, I was instead given a Mitsubishi Mirage, which is categorically not comparable in size or trunk space. When I questioned this, I was told I could “upgrade” to an actual sedan for $5 more per day, which is absurd considering I had already booked and paid for a better category.
To make matters worse, whilst booking I was able to select a truck for the same price, yet I chose the sedan size car specifically for trunk space. Even a smaller option like a Hyundai Venue would have been acceptable, but the Mirage was clearly not comparable to what was advertised, nor what I paid for.
After reluctantly agreeing to take the car anyway, I then discovered the Bluetooth wasn’t working. I was told it “must be wired,” despite the vehicle clearly having Bluetooth functionality. When I went back to ask whether there were any alternatives, the staff member assisting me (I believe his name was Trey, definitely not Tod, who was actually polite and helpful during checkout) was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed zero interest in resolving the issue.
It was obvious I was unhappy, yet instead of attempting any form of customer service or compromise, they escalated the situation and cancelled the entire booking themselves, even after I explicitly said I would take the car as-is. That decision was made unilaterally and he told me straight up that he's no longer assisting me.
This was one of the most unfriendly and unprofessional rental experiences I’ve ever had. Being asked to pay more for something I had already booked and paid for and then being made to feel like I was the problem is unacceptable. The booking clearly stated “Nissan Versa (which is a sedan) or similar,” not “smaller vehicle with less space.”
Your staff need dire customer service training. I would strongly advise against using this car rental agency, or at the very least, steer clear of this particular branch.
PS. Upon arriving at this branch, this particular staff member was upset about an upcoming appointment which he's concerned about missing due to some or other late arrival at the branch. This particular underlying attitude was certainly experienced and felt during his lack of assistance towards myself. I'd definitely suggest looking into this, complaining behaviour in front of patrons is a serious NO.

Nick was great at check in and check out. He made sure I got the best car for my needs AND that it smelled nice. It was less than 5 min to get checked in, get my car and on the road. Same amount of time to check out.
