We had been to several dealerships and stopped here because the Hyundai trucks are rated better than the Mercedes, and my wife wanted a third row (we were on the way to look at a Lincoln Aviator)
While in the parking lot looking, we were lucky to have Michael Molina approach us. His opening, after the initial hello and being told we were just looking was, "I/we want to sell cars, we are here to work with, and hopefully find you the most suitable vehicle and acquisition model for your family". It felt comfortable and sounded sincere.
As for sincerety at dealerships, after visiting 3 prior (the absolute worst Philips Buick) we already had that "dirty, uncomfortable, stressed out, the dealership is doing you a favor" car buying feeling. We had our guard up to say the least.
Michael (and in all our visits and dealing with Jenkins Hyundai) was a breath of fresh air. It was honestly unbelievable, and I used to sell cars, so I understand the process from both sides and expected the niceties to end sooner than later, boy was I wrong.
Each vehicle we looked at and/or test drove Michael was careful to share both the pluses and negatives comparing the vehicles features against our list of what was important to us. He was able to do this because his "discovery" questions and ability to "dig deeper" and find out the reasons behind what we did and did not want, was superb. Michael (as well as his sales manager Tom Vanderhoff) obviously knew that if you just listen to your customer, they will tell you how they want to be sold. They also knew the importance of providing options that may not be in line with what a prospect was looking at, but felt might compliment the transaction because we left with a lease rather than a cash purchase. They demonstrated each option side by side offering how the lease actually met more of our personal goals, and they were 100% on point.
We only stopped here on a whim while going to look at the Lincoln Aviator, and boy are we glad we did.
Michael, we can not thank you enough for your professionalism. You heard us, cared about what we needed/wanted, allowed my wife to drive so many different vehicles and applied no pressure when we said we were not ready.
As we shared with you and your leadership, we came back first and most importantly, to do business with you, and then had the added plus to meet and work with Darrell on the first day, followed by Tom V., John S. in finance, and Lee in customer relations. Even your GM made sure to say hello amd ask "how is your experience going so far" at some point during our 3 visits to Jenkins Hyundai.
Folks, Hyundai's ratings are incredible, and its not the Hyundai that first came to market. They have many types of vehicles, absolute luxury, base models, and everything in between. If your buying a car within a 20/30 mile radius to the Villages (and possibly further), do yourself a favor and get an appointment or stop in to specifically meet Michael Molina, you will be so glad you did. Even if you don't find "your perfect vehicle" you will at the very least experience how buying a car should feel.
To the owners, thank you for everything. From the shopping, through the purchase, and follow up post sale, we feel like we have friends in the auto industry.
With our respect,
J & N
