  Made a reservation over the phone and was confirmed my booking included a 16' truck and a tow dolly. When I went to pick up the truck they weren't accounting for my tow dolly in the reservation, the tow dolly also had no pins to secure. +/-150 miles into my trip the alignment gave out and I had to hold the steering as if I was turning left just to drive the truck straight for the remainder of my 1,300 mile drive. This in turn lead to an increase in fuel consumption but to add to all that, +/-700 miles into my trip I got a notification the oil was low. Moving cross country is difficult enough, but when reserving a moving truck at this price you trust the service reps will do their due diligence and perform a multi-point inspection before lending the vehicle out. With all the policies Penske has on vehicle inspections before renting them out, I want to learn how this one-way rental slid through the cracks.

  I booked a 16 ft one way rental truck in September (9/11/24). Today I called and they said that even with my reservations they won’t hold or guarantee the truck would be available. The reservation I’ve had for a full month is completely useless. Absolutely a garbage customer service policy. I had previously used Penske for my other move in June and thought the experience was great, even recommending for my family to use over other rentals like UHaul. I won’t do that again since at least U-Haul will hold the truck I actually reserved.

  I booked a long distance one way move 3 weeks and they had already rented my truck. I got there at the pick up time and they were closed so I left and went back right when they opened and there were three trucks on the lot. There was no one waiting there but the rude guy at the counter said I had to wait because the guy was checking someone out already but he left to get his card. So I told him I was running to buy something. I got back to the register in a couple minutes because they didn’t have what I needed and there were two new people there getting the size truck I needed so I wait 45 to be told that the truck I rented was double booked and they had just rented the last one. They had another truck that was an hour away. I also called Penske directly and sat on hold 45 minutes and just kept getting transferred so I gave up and went to 4 uhaul before finding one. Horrible customer service at Home Depot and Penske
