- CEC.J. EvansDec 26, 20251.0Ok. So I know that the Jiffy technicians are there primarily to get the customer in and out of the service bay as quickly as possible. Especially for an oil change right? However, if you aren’t in the know about Automotive components they will surely try to add on maintenance items you don’t need. It’s like they earn a commission or bonus when they do find someone to suck some money out of. Took my car in for service about a week before Christmas. I was told my car had no oil in the engine. I knew that couldn’t be true because if I was completely out of oil then the engine would have been knocking. Trust me it’s an obvious sound. Louder than a Motorcycle. Even the deaf of hearing would know. But whatever. I rolled my eyes and let the guy do his thing. I was charged for 2 additional quarts of oil which I honestly didn’t need. During the same visit the guy tried to tell me I needed an AC Filter replacement. At first I’m like “sure ok”, thinking that the AC Filter is a part that is inside the engine bay (which it might be in some cars). I clarified with him and ask “when you say AC Filter are you talking about the In-Cabin air filter”? Sure enough, that’s exactly what he was talking about. So that’s $65 dollars I didn’t need to spend and already did on my own for half the cost. I used to take my car here every visit for maintenance needs. Not anymore. If those boys had gotten paid a little better I’m sure the outcome would be different. And I know for a fact I’m not the only customer that they will try to play with. So please take heed! Learn the parts of your car. Follow your owners manual maintenance schedule. If you can do preventative repairs and replacement on your own rides then please do so. Only come here as a last resort. Otherwise they ain’t gone do nothing but talk their snot and run up numbers which profits the company and not the customer.

I go and as they are trying to get the oil filter off I hear the struggle I hear hammering I feel my car moving abnormally hard. They come up and say you will need an oil filter housing cap it’s an extra $250 labor and parts.. they give me the old oh it happens over time … keep in mind this is jiffy lube they let u know everything that’s wrong every time u go… and he says this after I hear all this happening… I say wait noooo what was all that noise “the filter is stuck we have to break it to get it off” I say wait u guy over torqued my oil filter and are charging me cause u have to break that part to get tit off and are saying it happens over time. SMH I will never go here again this is not good business. Needless to say I left and did not get ripped off lied too and robbed. They would have mentioned wear and tear the previous visit.. just take accountability smh
