I genuinely believe his attitude toward me was because I’m a woman. All I asked was where to find mirrors with side mirrors in the aisle — I didn’t want anything ordered or looked up. I explained that my car was hit by a fallen light pole and I just needed a temporary fix until insurance handles the repair. Instead of listening, he kept insisting the mirrors “wouldn’t fit” my car, even though he had no idea what I was doing. I ended up successfully creating my own temporary blind spot mirror using epoxy weld and a vanity mirror for under $20. When I went to test the mirror, he demanded my keys or ID — I said my keys were in my bra, so I’d get my ID instead. When I returned, he held my ID up toward other customers, exposing my personal information, then left it on the counter for anyone to grab. Completely inappropriate. The other employee, however, was respectful and kind — he even let me use pliers and snips so I could safely finish my fix. The contrast between him and the manager was night and day. This company seriously needs to reconsider who they have running that store. The manager’s attitude was disgusting, rude, and condescending.
