    Update: Mike Thomas called me on a Saturday morning to immediately address the situation. He spoke with respect, an urgency to resolve the situation and an apologetic mannerism. He didn’t make excuses or point blame and he communicated privately with the employee, how corrections should be addressed with employees. I’m so pleased with this immediate addressing of the concern from the fantastic store manager that I’m changing my review to 5 stars because of excellent management. I haven’t gotten this fast of a prompt and successful mitigation in quite some time. Glad to have Mike Thomas at Autozone! Autozone provided me with the wrong part for my Toyota rav 4 2019. I bought it from 4951 Blanding but returned it to the argyle forest branch. I got there and the first thing the young man asked me was if I had my paper receipt. The last thing the Blanding store told me was to not worry about having my paper receipt for a return because they can do it through the computer, and I told this to the rep and he said it's easier with it. I like the computer method because it pushes customers to see the benefits behind the rewards program, which encourages spending and helps profits. The rep doesn't get this point and needs to be taught this aspect of encouraging the use of phone numbers. I told him I got given the wrong part, and he didn't apologize for a mistake Autozone made, more so he remained apathetic, I guess he didn't realize that I had to get a ride to another part store after shopping around while covered in grease last night, and stop my work today to complete this return. He didn't care what the mistake cost me and he wouldn't know cause he wasn't displaying empathy, a key component to positive customer interaction. I told him I wanted to return the brake grease cause I didn't use it, there was some in another box from a previous Autozone purchase in which he scoffed at and said something like "it's only 2 dollars, come on." Don't ever downplay the impact of a dollar, or make fun at someone for returning something for 2 dollars. I'm not gonna change my brakes for a long time, and I'm not gonna waste money cause some guy doesn't value my business and my sense of being economical. That really upset me and caused me to never want to shop at Autozone again. Being an uber driver, Autozone is my go to store for car needs but this interaction made me super uncomfortable. He told me I couldn't return the brake grease cause it wasn't in the system and I told him it was, if you looked up my number. He got visibly and audibly upset and scoffed. He said do I need to call my manager over. He did, and the manager asked do you have a phone # and I said yes and the young guy said "well you should have lead with that." So disrespectful and rude, he doesn't need to work there or any job if he doesn't know how to speak respectfully. I was being kind, patient, and wasn't making a big deal about a situation that really upset me. The manager spoke with respect, and the other guy stormed away in petulance, but rest assured, I'll never visit this store again. I'd rather spend more money to get the respect I know I deserve.
