I recently got seat covers for my car as a gift from this location on Valentine’s Day a couple days ago they don’t fit my car and unfortunately, I did not have the receipt so I went to do an exchange or see what can be done and the older man refused to help me at all. Wouldn’t even let me exchange it or give me store credit. Even though I have proof of the transaction on my husbands bank account. I decided to take these covers over to the other location on Hodges and Beach and he immediately allowed me to exchange it for store credit and I was able to get something different. I would definitely advise against going to the girvin location as they are extremely unaccommodating and lack customer service skills.

Take the 5 extra minutes to drive to the Beach Blvd location (or any other location) Came to pick up a part ordered at another location, arrived to a very ill tempered older male employee smoking cigarettes in the doorway. As I entered the building and made my way to the aisle I needed, he asked in a very discourteous manner what I was here for. Upon stating my purpose, he then very rudely started barking demands that I go to the counter instead of the aisle. Explained that I knew what I needed and where it was at, to which he rebuttled with another rude response of already having it behind the counter. Apparently my lack of mind reading abilities combined with the burden of this gentleman having to be at work(?) equates to treating customers with disdain. Stellar employment choice.

Phil helped me out tremendously! I needed a new battery for my 23 GMC YUKON. Phil’s customer service is out of this world! He is an asset to this store! As our vehicles become more complex the knowledge of how to change simple things becomes priceless. I thank Advance and more specifically Phil!!

Went to this location a month or two ago just to find and buy a single, if I recall, 10 mm, socket but ended up buying a ratchet socket set instead along with a soda and a tire pressure gauge.
I may not needed help during that time but the two employees, one outside and the one inside, were both helping the two customers out. One of them was installing some part or troubleshooting something to a customer's car and the other helping a customer out over the phone. They were both helpful and courteous to whomever they were helping out!

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
