Went in to get a part today. The employee at the counter was obviously irritated that I came in to spend money. Told her my make and model and she points me to an aisle and says we "should" have it down there (walks away). After surprisingly not finding my item went back to the counter for assistance. She repeated the item number and suggested I look harder. Not sure who is responsible for the hiring but I would adjust some things. My truck is still broke but I felt the need to post because for everyone that has a negative experience there are many more that just don't say anything. This visit was terrible because of incompetence on the employee part. Train your staff or replace them. STAY AWAY!

I have been buying parts from Advance Auto Parts for years, unfortunately I have one bad experience 😕 them selling me the wrong part. Which I have always trusted their employees knowledge when it came to me giving them my information of my vehicle it will be used for. So I didn't have worry about or question the part I was being sold . Now saying that I bought all the parts that I would need to change out my rotors and brakes. Which I always purchase items way in advance for the task. So when I went to install the rotors I became aware that they sold me the wrong rotors. Which it was to late to return the rotors because of their return policy. Which I do get, but it was their fault from the beginning. Which they did take any responsibility for selling the wrong rotors, they replied by saying company policy 45 days. Which I do understand but it was their fault selling customers the wrong parts. So don't trust or think the person who's helping you know what they're doing when it comes to parts. Especially at their Baymeadows store in Jacksonville,FL. I will start using NAPA because their definitely more knowledgeable and trustworthy, in my opinion.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Advance Auto Parts for years, always buying and replacing my car batteries there without any issues. Unfortunately, my recent experience at Baymedows Rd location was absolutely unacceptable. My mother’s car battery failed, but it was still under warranty. She first went to another store that didn’t have the replacement in stock, so they sent her to this location. My mother speaks very little English, so she called me from the store and I helped translate over the phone. The employee who claimed her name was Bree didn’t even take a moment to listen. She immediately tried to sell my mother a new battery instead of checking the warranty. After insisting that she pay attention and explaining the situation again, Bree finally looked up my account. Then she said my mother had to replace the battery herself because they “don’t do battery replacements,” which is completely false since Advance Auto Parts advertises free battery testing and installation. When I questioned this, she said that “people in the past were wrong” and she was “just doing her job.” When I asked to speak with a manager, she said she was the manager. I told her it would be more honest to just say she didn’t want to do her job instead of making excuses. My mom’s car wasn’t starting, so I asked at least for them to give her a jump so she could get home. Bree agreed—yet minutes later, my mom, a woman over 60 years old, called me scared because the employee started mocking her for not speaking English, refused to help her, and threatened to call the police. I immediately drove to the store and asked why she was calling the police. She said it was because my mom “hadn’t left the store,” even though the car wouldn’t start! I told her this behavior was unacceptable and accused her of discrimination. She still called the police. Thankfully, the manager at the first store told me to return there and helped me get everything resolved. I personally jumped my mom’s car. This whole experience was humiliating, unprofessional, and showed clear discrimination toward an older woman who doesn’t speak English fluently. Advance Auto Parts should seriously review the conduct of this employee and ensure no one else has to go through something like this.
